Africa Project
Seeing spiritual movements everywhere will take a deliberate effort to reach out beyond our own comfort zone. That is one reason why Great Commission Movement of Nigeria has adopted four other African countries as our targets for outreach beyond our borders. Late in 2010, groups went from Nigeria to campuses in Chad and Cameroun. Early in 2011, another group went to the Republic of Benin. GCMN staff, students involved in our Student Life Movement and professionals joined together for each of these projects. The planning was done in partnership with the staff of our sister movements in the respective countries. In each case the visit of the Nigerians was an encouragement and boost to the people ministering in that campus.
Known as the Africa Project, this emphasis on reaching beyond our national borders is an important component in fulfilling our vision of seeing movements everywhere so that everyone knows someone who truly follows Jesus. Over the next four years, we hope to make ongoing visits to the selected neighbouring countries to minister and encourage those in ministry there. As you will see by reading the reports, the projects were also of great encouragement and challenge to the participants from Nigeria.
