“Win the campus for Christ today; win the world for Christ tomorrow.” It was with these words that Dr. Bill Bright launched the ministry to students in 1951. GCMN staff members who serve at our universities share Christ with students everyday. Those who become followers of Jesus are trained to live and share the Christian life through personal and small group follow-up, discipleship groups, larger training meetings, retreats and special projects. We believe that people reached for Christ during their student years are a vital resource for reaching the rest of the world with the gospel.
Win the Campus, Win the world
Reaching Beyond Our Borders
Seeing spiritual movements everywhere will take a deliberate effort to reach out beyond our own comfort zone. That is one reason why Great Commission Movement of Nigeria has adopted four other African countries as our targets for outreach beyond our borders. Late in 2010, groups went from Nigeria to campuses in Chad and Cameroun. GCMN staff, students involved in our Student Life Movement and professionals descended on the Universite de N’djamena (Chad) and the University of Buea in Cameroun.
In both cases, the projects were planned in partnership with staff of our sister movements in the respective countries. In each case the visit of the Nigerians was an encouragement and boost to the people ministering in that campus. As you will see, the projects were also of great encouragement and challenge to the participants from Nigeria. (more…)
