Walk with God

Forgiveness

Now we will focus on the first of the two ways to maintain a strong walk with God. Forgiveness.

It is possible to walk closely with God when we experience His forgiveness. Yet in the course of our daily lives, we may do things that hinder or harm our walk with God. We may begin to feel guilty and drift away from Him.

Which of the following best describes how you view sin in your life?

I don't think much about sin
I do more good than bad, so I should be okay
When I sin, I quickly ask for forgiveness
I often feel defeated by sin

What can we do when guilt draws us away from God?

According to 1 John 1:9, we can confess our sins to God and be certain that if we are truly sorry, God hears our prayers and gives us fresh appreciation for and a sense that we really are forgiven by Him. Then we can have regular conversations with God and walk freely in faith through our days wiht Him - without guilt, fear or shame.

Take an Action

The forgiveness God offers to you is something you can offer to others, bringing you both freedom. Think about someone in your life who you can choose to forgive and decide one way to demonstrate forgiveness to that person.
